Germany, Pfalz, Vintage: 2018. Jülg is a border property where half of its vineyards lie across the border in Alsace. Young winemaker Johannes spent time apprenticing at Domaine des Lambrays in Burgundy, returning with a great appreciation for elegance and complexity.
It's difficult to believe that this is entry-level. This Pinot Noir exhibits delicate oak influence, fresh and slightly savoury fruit, a touch of violet and bright acidity. The tannins are perfectly judged, and the finish is long.
Perfect when pairing with rack of lamb, a seared tuna steak, or mild cheeses.
